Remarkable Adeagbo Makes Winter Olympics History

Simidele Adeagbo made history earlier on Friday after she took part in the women’s skeleton event at the ongoing 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongyang thus becoming the first Nigerian and African to make an appearance.

Adeagbo, who only began the sport professionally some six months ago, recorded times of 54.19s and 54.58s in heat 1 and heat 2 respectively to finish 20th out of the 20 competitors.

She competed in the event amidst vocal support from the Nigerian bobsled team but that did little to change the final outcome.
