AS Roma Back Eagles For Russia 2018 World Cup

Italian Serie A giants AS Roma have thrown their weight behind the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The UEFA Champions League (UCL) finalists made this known via Twitter after the club posted the news of the Super Eagles squad released on Monday.

A presidential aide thanked the club for the gesture before the capital outfit responded as follows: “Good luck to the squad at the @FIFAWorldCup in Russia.

“Italy won’t be there, so #ASRoma will be supporting our own players and the #SuperEagles – #ForzaSuperEagles.” the club added.

The Italian side have two Nigerians namely Umar Sadiq and Nura Abdullahi on their books though both players are missing in the 30-man preliminary World Cup squad

Sadiq was on loan to Dutch side NAC Breda this just concluded season while Abdullahi was at Italian rivals Perugia.
