Angers’ Interest Hands Enyeama Renewed World Cup Hopes

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been handed a good opportunity to play regularly following strong interest from fellow French Ligue 1 side Angers SCO.

As reported by L’Equipe, Angers SCO are willing to pay 500,000 to 1 million euros to secure his transfer from former league champions Lille.

Playing regular club football will undoubtedly fuel previous calls for him to return to the Super Eagles fold ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia.

Enyeama had previously been deemed to be surplus to requirements under Argentinian coach Marcelo Bielsa before his dismissal as coach of Lille but the former Hapoel Tel Aviv star could still leave.

The 35-year old is presently fourth in the pecking order of the club’s goalkeeper and new coach Christophe Galtier would almost certainly sanction any transfer.

Lille have to balance their books in the next six months or face relegation in addition to the fact that the club has already been banned from signing new players in next month’s transfer window by the French football financial regulatory body (DNCG).[tps_footer][/tps_footer]
