Onyekuru Faces World Cup Heartbreak After Big Injury

Anderlecht striker Henry Onyekuru could miss out on next year’s World Cup in Russia after his club manager ruled him out for a minimum of six months.

Onyekuru, who is on loan at the Belgium club from Everton, damaged medial ligaments during his side’s 1-0 win over his former club Eupen on December 22.

Anderlecht manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck said via Liverpool Echo that: ”He is possibly out for six months.”

The 20-year-old has done well to force himself into the World Cup picture after his club performances in the last two seasons however the latest development could rule him out of the tournament completely.
