Stephen Odey Hits Debut UCL Goal For Genk In Loss To Liverpool

Stephen Odey came off the bench to score for Genk in the 4-1 loss at home to Liverpool on his UEFA Champions League debut on Wednesday.

The fringe Super Eagles player came on for compatriot and fellow international Paul Onuachu in the 81st minute and found the net seven minutes later to give the Belgian side a consolation goal.

Odey, 21, has now scored twice in five outings for his new club although he’s yet to find the target in the Jupiler League

An Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain double had put Liverpool 2-0 up before further Liverpool added two more goals from Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah.

Genk are bottom of Group E behind table-toppers Napoli whose seven points is one more than second-placed Liverpool. RedBull Salzburg are third with three points.
