INSIDE AFCON 2019: Super Eagles Players Reject NFF’s Negotiations Over Unpaid Allowances

ALEXANDRIA – Super Eagles players have rejected the assurances of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over their unpaid bonuses and allowances and are threatening to skip today’s training ahead of tomorrow’s Group B 2019 Africa Cup of Nations game against Guinea.

Senior players refused to attend today’s pre-match press conference and have been locked in a meeting with officials of the federation over away out of the logjam.

But following the end of the first meeting, players rejected the NFF’s offer as unsatisfactory according to sources familiar with the negotiations. A second round of negotiations is currently being held at their Helnan Palestine Hotel base in Alexandria.

Today’s training has been set for 3.30pm and the Super Eagles play Guinea by the same time tomorrow.
