2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League Gets July Start Date

The first phase of the 2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League will take place from 5 to 18 July, 2021 at the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, a member of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) caretaker committee, Professor Olatunde Morakinyo has disclosed.

Professor Morakinyo revealed that the NVBF has secured the venue for the league at the indoor sports complex of the University of Ilorin.

He stated that the total number of the participating teams will be ascertained before the Premier League commences.

He said, “The Nigeria Volleyball Federation is very much prepared and have secured the venue for the first phase of the 2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

“So far, not all the teams have indicated interest but we believe by the time the arrival date comes all the teams will converge in Ilorin. The Premier League teams ought to be 10 and we know they will all participate in the league.”

The Human Kinetics professor said fans should expect explosive and high level volleyball action when the Premier League gets underway.

“Nigerians should expect better displays of volleyball knowing the calibre of teams participating in the first phase. It is going to be of high standard and the spectators will enjoy every minute of the games.”
