Nigeria’s Matchday 1 Africa Cup of Nation Qualifiers against the Squirrels of Benin will be a “different” ball game, says Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr.

The Franco-German made the assessment while speaking to Pressmen in Uyo ahead of the crunch fixture scheduled for 5pm today.

About four months ago, the Squirrels of Benin ousted a robust Morrocan team under the charge of Herve Renard – the only Coach to have won the AFCON title with two different countries – out of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt after progressing from a group consisting of Ghana, Cameroon and Guinea-Bissau.

Rohr reaffirmed he was parading the best team for the tie with 70 percent of the squad having played against Brazil in a friendly during the last FIFA international break.

“We try like always to bring the best team. Our two games we spoke about were very difficult games against great teams but not African teams. It was different football and the two teams played very offensively so we had space and we need that in our team for our quick wingers, for our quick strikers will enjoy it.”

Howbeit, the 57 year old revealed his approach to tomorrow’s game will be different owing to the style of play of the Beninese.

“It will not be the same game perhaps tomorrow because Benin Republic as a team is playing very well defensively. You saw them playing in the AFCON competition, they did so well, they eliminated Morocco for example and it(the game tomorrow) will be different.” He said.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles were drawn alongside Benin Republic, Lesotho and Sierra Leone in Group L.
