World Cup Qualifying Wrap (CAF) Group D: Senegal Beat South Africa Again As Burkina Faso Thrash Cape Verde

 

Senegal qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia following a 2-0 win against hosts South Africa on Friday however that didn’t disturb the West African side from beating the same opponents 2-1 when both sides met again in Dakar.

After a goalless first half, French-born striker Opa Nguette gave Senegal the lead but the away side levelled matters through the lively Percy Tau nine minutes later before Kara Mbodji broke South African hearts by netting the winning goal on the stroke of fulltime.

In the other game in Group D, Prejuce Nakoulman grabbed a hattrick to help Burkina Faso thrash Cape Verde 4-0 at home. Banou Diawara got the other goal for the Burkinabes.
