Junior Lokosa Rewarded For His Hard Work

Kano Pillars striker Junior Sewanu Lokosa has been presented with the inaugural Eunisell Boot Award and a check for #3.8 million for emerging the highest goal scorer with 19 goals in the 2017/2018 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Nigeria International was feted today in a ceremony held in Lagos and becomes the first ever winner of the award which values each goal at ₦200,000 and was instituted by leading global chemical and speciality fluid management company, Eunisell, to reward the top goals scorer in the NPFL.

Eunisell GMD, Chika Ikenga said: “We are passionate about Nigerian football. We believe Nigerian players deserve to be celebrated,”

Lokosa who was part of the provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia scored a total of 19 goals in 23 league matches and was only prevented from taking a run at the NPFL record of 24 goals set by Mfon Udoh in 2013/2014 after the 2017/2018 league season was abruptly terminated at match day 24.

He has been named on the standby list of players by Eagles handler Gernot Rohr ahead of the 17 November African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Johannesburg and the friendly against Uganda on 20 November in Asaba.
