Wilfred Ndidi Hits Out At DSTV Over Image Rights Violation

Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has slammed pay tv providers DSTV for apparently using his image on a nation wide publicity campaign without prior authorisation.

The Leicester City midfielder took exception to the use of his image on a number of billboards promoting DSTV products, writing on Twitter that the TV company appropriated his image “without my permission”.

“Abeg make una see Corporate company in Nigeria using my image without my permission for massive nationwide promotion. DSTV for that matter . Abeg which kin wahala be this one now? I go vex oh..🙈,” he wrote on Twitter.

While Ndidi might have cause to be aggrieved, DSTV are official broadcast partners of the Premier League in Nigeria and as such may have authorisation to use images of EPL stars in their branding and products.

However, the company is yet to react to Ndidi’s protestations at the time of writing.
