Bayelsa United will take a narrow lead into the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against CS Sfaxien after they could only secure a 1-0 win at home courtesy of Victory Beniangba’s 60th-minute effort at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Sunday.
The Nigerian second-tier side travel to Tunisia for the return leg next week and will face an uphill task to make the next round at the expense of record three-time champions Sfaxien.
Bayelsa United thrashed Guinean side AS Ashanti Golden Boys 4-2 in the previous round and were semifinalists in 2009.
