Newly elected Liberian President, George Weah, will on Thursday afternoon receive his certificate from the National Elections Commission (NEC) as the country’s 25th president.

The small certificate presentation ceremony will be held at the boardroom of the NEC at 2pm local time.

Former Chelsea and AC Milan striker, Weah, emerged as the president-elect of the West African nation following last month’s presidential election.

The 1995 World Player of the Year was a serving Senator before his emergence as the 25th president of Liberia.
