After a dramatic group, Europe’s top 16 teams now know who they go against after the draws for the Round of 16 fixtures
Liverpool will take on Bayern Munich in a blockbuster clash, while Manchester United will face the might of a PSG side boasting superstars like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr.
Manchester City will feel they have gotten off fairly easy, paired up with struggling German side Schalke 04, while Spurs will take on German league leaders Borussia Dortmund in an intriguing clash.
Ajax v Real Madrid
AS Roma v Porto
Liverpool v Bayern Munich
Tottenham Hotspur v Borussia Dortmund
Manchester United v Paris Saint-Germain
Atletico Madrid v Juventus
Schalke 04 v Manchester City
Lyon v Barcelona
The draw is seeded with group winners taking on group runners-up. Teams cannot play an opposition they faced in the group stage or a team from the same country.
Seeded group winners are away in the round of 16 first legs on February 12/13 and 19/20 and at home in the return matches on March 5/6 and 12/13.
Rather than a traditional ‘bracket’ system in which a path to the final is already mapped out, there will be another draw for the quarter-finals.
