Two Manchester United Defenders Found Guilty Of Doping Offences By UEFA

Two Manchester United defenders have come under the hammer of UEFA, after they were found guilty of breaching Uefa’s doping regulations at May’s Europa League final.

Phil Jones has been banned for two games and fined €5,000 for verbally abusing a UEFA doping official after he was asked to attend a drug-testing session, following United’s victory over Ajax in Stockholm.

Dutch international, Daley Blind was fined for violation and non-compliance with Article 6.05, which states: “every player designated to undergo as doping control is personally responsible for reporting immediately to the doping control station as notified.”

Jones will now miss Manchester United’s Super Cup game against Real Madrid on August 8 and the first match of their Champions League campaign in September.

Manchester United have also been fined €10,000 for their player’s actions, the Old Trafford outfit have three days to appeal the decision.
