Thierry Henry Yet To Record First Win With Monaco

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is yet to get his first win since taking charge at Monaco after his team fell to their seventh league defeat of the season in a 1-0 loss at Reims on Saturday.

A sleek finish in the 24th minute from Mathieu Cafaro gave Reims all three points, leaving the Frenchman without a win in four matches since his appointment as Monaco coach.

Alaixys Romao was shown a straight red card for a high challenge on Youssef Ait Bennasser before Monaco saw Guinea-Bissau international Pele sent off for two bookings, making both sides finish with 10 men.

“It wasn’t about the tactics tonight. The desire wasn’t there,” said Henry. “Reims won the battles on the pitch and when you don’t win them, you can’t win whatever the level or league.”

The 2016/17 Ligue 1 champions remain in the nineteenth position following their shocking run at the start of the season that has yielded just one win in all competitions.

“It’s more worrying than the defeat at Strasbourg,” added Henry, referring to the 2-1 loss he suffered in his first game at the helm last month.
