Serie A Review: Lazio Move Into Top Four With Victory Over Hellas Verona

Capital club Lazio have moved into the top four on the Italian Serie A table after they defeated relegation fighters Hellas Verona 2-0 at home in a Matchday 25 clash at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday night.

Italian international striker Ciro Immobile scored two goals within the space of five second half minutes to give his side an important win in their bid to make the top four and qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL).

The victory means Lazio (49 points) climb above Inter Milan (48 points) into 4th place and are just one point off city rivals AS Roma in 3rd spot as the race for the 2018/19 UCL qualification gathers momentum.

On the other hand, Hellas Verona stay one place off the bottom (19th) with 19 points from 25 league games and are still two points from safety.
