Napoli have regained the summit in the Italian Serie A after they came from behind to beat Bologna 3-1 at home in a week 22 league clash on Sunday.

The visitors took a shock lead in the first minute through Rodrigo Palacio but Maurizio Sarri’s side bounced back through an Ibrahima Mbaye own goal before in-form Dries Mertens scored a second goal from the spot with eight first half minutes remaining.

The aforementioned Mertens added a third goal in the second half to wrap up victory for his side against a stubborn Bologna outfit.

With the win, Napoli (57 points) move above Juventus (56 points) in the race for the Scudetto.

In the biggest game of the weekend, Giacomo Bonaventura scored just before halftime to hand his rejuvenated AC Milan side a 2-1 win over third-placed Lazio.

Adam Marusic had earlier cancelled out young striker Partick Cutrone’s strike before the timely intervention of Italian international midfielder Bonaventura gave the hosts a crucial win.
