Sarri Begins Chelsea Reign With Victory

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri got his tenure at Stamford Bridge to a great start following his side’s 1-0 win over Australian side Perth Glory.

Sarri resigned as Napoli manager in May before he was appointed as the Blues boss on a three-year deal earlier this month and his reign got off to a winning start earlier on Monday.

The Italian tactician and his players are currently on a preseason tour of Australia as Chelsea step up preparations ahead of the new season.

Chelsea started the game on the front foot and were rewarded as early as the 5th minute when Spanish international forward Pedro edged his side ahead after good work from English youngster Callum Hodson-Odoi.

The former Premier League champions had several chances to add to their goal tally with striker Alvaro Morata hugely culpable but the hosts restricted the defeat to a one-goal margin.
