Rivers Angels Lead 2018 NWPL Awards Provisional List

Nigeria Women Premier League defending champions, Rivers Angels have earned the highest number of spots in the recently released provisional list of the 2018 Nigerian Women Premier League Awards. 

Rivers Angels players and personnel clinched nomination in a total of six (6) categories (Goalkeeper Of The Season, Defender Of The Season, Midfielder Of The Season, Club Administrator Of The Season, Coach Of The Season, Player Of The Season) and only missed out in the Young Player of the season category. 

Club coaches and captains are responsible for the nominations which held earlier in the week. The awards will be held on Friday 25th January at a ceremony in Agege.

The full list of nominees is as follows:

GOALKEEPER OF THE SEASON – Agatha Thompson – Jokodolu Babes, Christiana Obia – Osun Babes, Rita Akarekor – Sunshine Queens, Nelly Ekeh – Ibom Angels, Chiamaka Nnadozie –  Rivers Angels.

DEFENDER OF THE SEASON – Glory Ogbonna – Ibom Angels, Mary Opara – Abia Angels, Ayomide Anibaba – Bayelsa Queens, Amaechi Ojini – Rivers Angels, Maryam Ibrahim –  Nasarawa Amazon’s.

MIDFIELDER OF THE SEASON – Rasheedat Ajibade – FC Robo Queens, Evelyn Nwabuoku – Rivers Angels, Amirat Adebisi – Bayelsa Queens, Ihuoma Goodness – Sunshine Queens, Amarachi Okoronkwo – Nasarawa Amazons.
