Francis Uzoho Resumes Training With Elche

Elche CF goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has completely recovered from the costal arch injury that sent him to the sidelines about a month ago, Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu has affirmed.

The 20-year-old suffered a damage to his ribs in Elche’s 5-1 defeat to Cadiz in a Segunda Liga clash on November 4 and has since been in recovery up until he was spotted training with the Spanish side’s first team on Tuesday.

“Uzoho started training with his team, Elche on Tuesday and I can tell you that he is happy to put behind him injury nightmare behind him,” Eagles official, Agu told SportingLife.

The goalkeeper’s bad shape in November ensured he missed out Super Eagles matches against South Africa and Uganda played that month and his absence was felt by the team in those games according to Agu.

“We are also happy to have him back in the fold too because he is a member of the family and we missed him when he didn’t come for our last two games. He is now fit and could make his comeback to his team any moment from now.”

Uzoho is now poised to return to Elche’s matchday squad even as the Los Franjiverdes prepare to face Sporting Gijón in the weekend.
