Little Brazilian magician Philippe Coutinho produced a moment of magic capable of winning any football game just before the interval to fire Liverpool to a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the final of the Premier League Asia trophy played at the Hong Kong Stadium in Hong Kong.

Former English Premier League (EPL) champions Leicester City had taken a shock lead in the 12th minute before new summer signing Mohammed Salah levelled matters for the Reds eight minutes later paving the way for Coutinho’s masterclass in the 44th minute.

Both sides made several changes in the second half and that affected the intensity of the game with neither side adding to their tally before the final whistle.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be hoping they can take this momentum into the new season in three weeks time though their next assignment would be in Germany for the Audi Cup.

London side Crystal Palace had earlier taken third position after beating West Brom 2-0 courtesy goals from Luka Milivojevic and Bakary Sako in the 3rd/4th place playoff.
