Brighton Edge M23 Derby Clash Over Palace To Secure FA Cup 4th Round Spot

Brighton & Hove Albion have qualified for the 4th round of the FA Cup after they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at home in their M23 Derby.

Both Premier League sides were much changed for their FA Cup 3rd round clash and that affected the quality of the game though it didn’t stop the hosts from taking a first half lead through midfielder Dale Stephens.

The game improved as a spectacle in the second half after Palace stepped up proceedings in search of an equaliser and they deservedly levelled in the last quarter of the game via a rocket of a shot from Malian international Bakary Sako.

Brighton coach Chris Hughton brought on his team’s leading scorer and former Crystal Palace striker Glen Murray and it proved to be an inspired substitution as he scored from close range on the stroke of fulltime to take his side into the 4th round where they will meet Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough side.
