Percy Tau Leaves Mamelodi Sundowns For Brighton

Bafana Bafana of South Africa star Percy Tau has joined Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion

The 24-year-old moves to the South Coast club from South African side Mamelodi Sundowns for an undisclosed fee.

Percy Tau started his career at Sundowns before moving to Witbank Spurs in 2015 and played for one season before returning to where it all began for him.

He thereafter helped Mamelodi Sundowns to win the 2016 CAF Champions League (CAFCL) and was rightfully named Premier League Soccer (PSL) Players’ Players and Player of the Season for 2017-18.

He has scored five goals in 12 appearances since making his debut for South Africa against Angola in 2015.

On the latest acquisition, Brighton manager Chris Hughton said: “Percy is a player we have highlighted for the future‚ and there is no doubting his talent‚ having been voted South African player of the season.”

“Percy will go out on loan this season‚ play regularly and get some experience of European football.

“We will be watching his progress and monitoring his development over the season.” He concluded.

On his own part, Percy Tau told the club’s website that: “Hopefully I can make some great memories here – I love making memories and I’m so happy to be here.”
