Oshoala Into Second Women’s Champions League Final With Barcelona

Asisat Oshoala will have another opportunity to claim Europe’s top inter-club prize after her Barcelona side overcame Paris St-Germain to sail through to the Women’s Champions League final on Sunday.

Super Falcons captain Oshoala was a 79th-minute substitute for Aitana Bonmati with the Spanish side already 2-1 up and looking to see off the came.

Two goals from Lieke Martens gave Barcelona a 2-0 lead after half an hour but Marie-Antoinette Katoto got one back for PSG soon after to leave the tie finely poised.

But the Catalans held on to win 3-2 on aggregate and they will play Chelsea or Bayern Munich – who meet on Sunday – in the final.

Four-time African Player of the Year Oshoala became the first African woman to score in the Champions League final when she got Barcelona’s lone goal in the 4-1 loss to Lyon in 2019.

The former Arsenal star will hope to lead her side to claim the elusive trophy this time around.
