South African Oscar Pistorius was rushed to the hospital early this morning after suffering a minor chest pain, but have since been discharged from the hospital.

Earlier reports suggested that the blade runner suffered a heart attack and had to be rushed to Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria at around 8am today. He was later discharged after treatment and has since been escorted back to the Atteridgeville Prison in South Africa.

Correctional service spokesman, Singabakho Nxumalo said: ” We can state that offender Oscar Pistorius was taken to an outside hospital facility this morning for a medical examination, and is expected back in the facility later today.”

Johan van Wyk, a spokesman for the family told the Citizen that Pistorius was ‘okay’.

The 30 year old is currently serving a 6 year jail term for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013. Pistorius had a similar medical emergency treatment last year for wrist injuries rumored to be from a suicide attempt.
