NPFL: Rivers Boss Eguma Pleased With Tactical Impact In Win Over MFM (AUDIO)

Rivers United boss Stanley Eguma has hailed his tactical impact in Wednesday’s victory against MFM, saying his tweak at half time paved the path for his side’s three points in the matchday 16 encounter at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Omagwa

The home side struggled to penetrate visiting MFM’s dogged defence in the first half but scored twice inside twenty-five second-half minutes with goals from Fortune Omoniwari and Nelson Esor to earn a second win in three unbeaten games.

Reacting to the game, Eguma whose side moved up to fifth with the victory praised MFM for their showing which he said belied their position in 16th place and forced him into a tactical tweak after the break in order to get the win.

“Well it’s good, I like us to win because it’s very, very good to win. Sometimes you don’t get it right at home but this time we are getting it right and I think it’s good for us and I thank the players for their effort,” he told the club’s website.

“It’s not that the match is easy like we saw MFM team gave us a very good fight. We never underrated them because we knew they were coming here to fight because their position on the log is not also good but in the first half it was a very difficult game, second half we had to change our tactics in other to undo them and we got the two goals.”
