NPFL: Lobi Stars Reclaim Top Spot, Abia Warriors Floor Rangers In Oriental Derby

Lobi Stars reclaimed top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League following a hard-fought 2-1 win against Shooting Stars at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.

Adebayo Waheeb gave the home team the lead in the second minute.

Shooting Stars rallied with Gideon Monday netting the equaliser four minutes after the break.

Centre-back Kalu Orji fired fired home the winning goal from the spot six minutes from time.

At the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors claimed derby spoils against oriental rivals Rangers with a 1-0 victory.

Collins Nwoburuoke scored the decisive goal on second minutes.

Former champions Akwa United fell to a 1-0 defeat against Niger Tornadoes at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna with Bashir Usman scoring the only goal of the game 25 minutes from time.

Sunshine Stars defeated Sporting Lagos 1-0 in the South West derby at the Ondo Sports Complex, Akure.
