Nigerian Striker Suffers Racist Abuse In Belgium

KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare suffered racist abuse from some of his club fans following their home loss to Club Brugge on Sunday.

Genk confirmed this in a statement released on their website on Monday.

In Sunday’s league game against Club Brugge, Genk lost 3-0.

Genk had the chance to take the lead in the 18th minute but Arokodare missed from the penalty spot.

The penalty miss angered some of the club fans who took to social media to throw racist insults at the Nigerian.

“After the match against Club Brugge, Tolu received a series of racist reactions on social media,” the club stated.

“KRC Genk and everyone involved with the club condemn the reactions 100%.
