Kimmich Named German Footballer Of The Year

Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich has been named the German footballer of the year for 2017.

He was voted by fans ahead of Paris Saint Germain forward Julian Draxler and Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen.

Kimmich had a phenomenal 2017 for both club and country.

He played a prominent role in the FIFA Confederations Cup triumph enjoyed by Germany in addition to scoring two goals and a further ten assists in 12 competitive matches for the team.

The right back also scored 3 goals and made 6 assists in 30 Bundesliga matches for German champions Bayern Munich.

Joshua Kimmich succeeds Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, who was the award recipient of the 2016 edition.
