The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick has expressed his believe that the Super Eagles of Nigeria can win this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee member Pinnick was speaking during the signing ceremony organised to unveil the new sponsorship deal with soft drinks giant Coca-Cola.
In his words, the NFF president said: “God has a purpose for our qualifying. We can win the World Cup. It’s possible.”
In a bid to be well prepared for the tournament in Russia, five international friendlies against Poland, Serbia, DR Congo, England and Czech Republic have already been lined up for the team.
The Super Eagles will face Croatia, debutants Iceland and old foes Argentina in Group D at the tournament.
