Milan Confirm Bacca, Lapadula Departures

Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have confirmed the departures of strikers Carlos Bacca and Gianluca Lapadula.

According to the seven-time European champions, Bacca has joined Spanish side Villareal on a permanent transfer, while Lapadula also moves to fellow Italian top flight side Genoa on a permanent deal.

Bacca, who has scored 14 goals in 48 international appearances for the Colombian national team, impressed while he was on a season-long loan to Villarreal last season.

He scored 15 goals in 35 league outings for the Yellow Submarines.

Gianluca Lapadula also impressed at Genoa last season scoring 6 goals in 28 league matches while he was on a season-long loan from the San Siro outfit.

Their departures were confirmed via a statement which read in part as follows: “The Club also announces the agreement for Carlos Arturo Bacca Ahumada and Gianluca Lapadula to join Villarreal CF and Genoa CFC respectively, both on a permanent basis. AC Milan wishes both players the best of luck in their future sporting endeavours, and thanks them for their professionalism and commitment to the Club.”
