It was a sad day in the football world as Mexico striker, Diego Chavez lost his life in a tragic car accident that also involve a newlywed couple.

According to TUDN, Chavez lost control of his red Volkswagen Beetle and crashed into a pole, where he was trapped inside the vehicle following the collision.

However, his FC Juarez confirmed his death on Wednesday via their official Facebook handle.

‘With deep sadness, we inform the entire FC Juárez community that our player Diego “El Puma” Chávez died early this morning on February 14 in a car accident.
