Kano Pillars forward Junior Lokosa and Akwa United head coach Abdu Maikaba have been named the League Bloggers Awards (LBA) Player and Manager of the month for January after respective exploits on the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) scene.

Lokosa, who is the leading scorer in the NPFL, has scored six goals in the colours of Kano Pillars thus propelling his team to the top three.

On the other hand, Maikaba has masterminded Akwa United’s rise to the top of the league ahead of champions Plateau United and Kano Pillars.

Lokosa won the player of the month award ahead of Samad Kadiri (Lobi Stars), Victor Mbaoma and Dennis Nya (Akwa United) while Maikaba came out tops for the manager’s category ahead of Plateau United’s Kennedy Boboye, Ibrahim Musa of Kano Pillars and Duke Udi of Sunshine Stars.
