Alexis Sanchez’s future at the Emirates have been laden with speculations and uncertainties over the last few months, following the Chilean’s refusal to pen a new deal with the Gunners.
Speaking to talkSPort, Arsenal legend and former striker, Alan Smith said: “Alexis Sanchez is a big shadow hanging over the Emirates…For me, it’s a no brainer. You’ve got to let him go, get the money and move on.”
28-year-old Sanchez, who has been reportedly linked with a move to Man City, has expressed his quest for Champions League football, something Arsenal won’t provide next season.
Alexis Sanchez has been directly involved in 35.2% of Arsenal’s 213 league goals since he joined the club.

Smith continued: “Arsene Wenger says he is determined not to sell him, but he seems determined to leave.”
“If you’ve got an unhappy player, a bit like Coutinho at Liverpool, that’s not a great situation to have in the dressing room.”
“What the owners would think about keeping a player you could get £60m for and then letting him go for nothing in 12 months’ time, I don’t know.”
“It happens time and time again at Arsenal.”
Alexis Sanchez was the only player to reach double figures for goals & assists in the Premier League last season.
