“Let Alexis Sanchez Go, Get The Money & Move On” – Arsenal Legend

Alexis Sanchez’s future at the Emirates have been laden with speculations and uncertainties over the last few months, following the Chilean’s refusal to pen a new deal with the Gunners.

Speaking to talkSPort, Arsenal legend and former striker, Alan Smith said: “Alexis Sanchez is a big shadow hanging over the Emirates…For me, it’s a no brainer. You’ve got to let him go, get the money and move on.”

28-year-old Sanchez, who has been reportedly linked with a move to Man City, has expressed his quest for Champions League football, something Arsenal won’t provide next season.

Smith continued: “Arsene Wenger says he is determined not to sell him, but he seems determined to leave.”

“If you’ve got an unhappy player, a bit like Coutinho at Liverpool, that’s not a great situation to have in the dressing room.”

“What the owners would think about keeping a player you could get £60m for and then letting him go for nothing in 12 months’ time, I don’t know.”

“It happens time and time again at Arsenal.”

Arsenal manager, Arsene wenger, remains keen over Sanchez’s future, insisting the forward will see out his current contract at the Emirates, should he not sign a new deal.

The Chilean is expected to resume training on Sunday after an extended summer break.
