Girona continued their impressive season on Friday night after they defeated Leganes 3-0 at home to secure a top-eight spot on the Spanish La Liga table lol while boosting their European qualification hopes ahead of next season.

In-form Christian Stuani put Girona ahead from the penalty spot in the first half before his strike partner Portu added a second goal with halftime approaching.

Girona were dominant from start to finish and it was largely unsurprising when Juanpe wrapped up the maximum points with a late goal.

The emphatic victory was enough to move Girona (34 points) three places up from 11th to 8th spot while Leganes (29 points) stay in 12th position on the league table.
