Atletico Madrid have moved to within eight points of Spanish La Liga leaders Barcelona following their 3-0 win over Celta Vigo at the new Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday evening.

Diego Simeone’s men secured the points through goals from Antoine Griezmann, Vitolo and Angel Correa as they continue to be the nearest challengers to Barcelona.

The win takes them to 64 points behind Barcelona (72 points) in the race for the league title.

Barcelona had earlier gone 11 points clear on Saturday night with a 2-0 win at Malaga before that lead was trimmed to eight points with Atletico’s convincing victory over Celta Vigo.
