Bundesliga Review: Dortmund Edge Frankfurt In Five-Goal Thriller To Boost UCL Hopes

Borussia Dortmund have strengthened their bid to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) after they edged Eintracht Frankfurt in a five-goal thriller in what was a German Bundesliga Matchday 26 clash on Sunday evening.

The Signa Iduna Park outfit took the lead in the 12th minute but were pegged back by the visitors with a quarter of the game to go courtesy a Luka Jovic strike.

Michy Batshuayi helped Dortmund regain the lead two minutes later only for Danny Blum to level proceedings for Frankfurt before Batshuayi added his second goal to make it a 3-2 win for his side thus propelling Peter Stoger’s men from 4th to 3rd on the table.

in the earlier game on Sunday, VfB Stuttgart played out a goalless draw with RB Leipzig as the latter’s hopes of qualifying for the UCL took a slight dent.
