IHF Emerging Nations Tournament: Nigeria Fall to China in 5th Place Classification Match

The national U23 handball team finished in sixth place at the IHF Emerging Nations Tournament in Georgia after they lost 28-24 in their final classification match on Saturday.

The 5th place classification encounter started with Nigeria edging the first half 13-12 but as has become all too common with the U23 team at the tournament, they fell apart in the 2nd half and were outscored 11-16 by the Chinese.

Nigeria’s Mohammed Anas won the gong for the Most Valuable Player for his team.

Meanwhile, in the other classification game decided on Saturday, the United States of America defeated Columbia 42-32.
