Premier League Watch: Manchester City Extend Lead As United Drop Points Again

League leaders Manchester City have extended their lead at the top of the table to a record 13 points at Christmas following their 4-0 win over struggling Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium.

Goals from Sergio Aguero (2), in-form Raheem Sterling and substitute Danilo got the goals for rampant City to make it a league record 17 successive wins.

Nearest challengers Manchester United will probably play second fiddle to their city rivals after they dropped points again with a 2-2 draw at 10-man Leicester City.

England international Harry Maguire rescued a point for the Foxes in added time after a brace from Juan Mata either side of halftime overtuned the game’s opening goal from Jamie Vardy, his 50th Premier League goal.

Claude Puel’s side had substitute Daniel Amartey sent off in the last quarter of the game following two yellow cards but they still managed to dent United’s title hopes with the late Maguire goal.
