I Have Special Affection For Chelsea – Diego Costa

Spanish striker Diego Costa has revealed that he has special affection for Chelsea and that he never wanted to leave the club in bad terms.

The 28-year old was speaking to reporters after it was confirmed by both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid that both clubs have agreed for his transfer to the latter subject to medical and personal term.

Diego Costa is on his way out of Chelsea after he fell out with manager Antonio Conte despite playing a crucial role in the club’s title winning campaign last season.

On his arrival in Madrid, he said: “I’m not going to be ungrateful to Chelsea, where I was also very happy, playing in a team that was great.”

“It’s not the way I wanted it leave, ever.

“I have special affection for the people at Chelsea. I’m not a person who is going to smear the image. They know the person I am.” he further added.

Diego Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2014 and went on to score 58 goals in 120 appearances. He helped the Stamford Bridge outfit to 2 English Premier League (EPL) titles in three seasons.
