Everton Move Into Premier League Top Eight With Newcastle Win

Everton have leapfrogged former Premier League champions Leicester City into the top eight following their slim 1-0 win over Newcastle United at the Goodison Park on Monday night.

Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott was the matchwinner for the Toffees as he netted the only goal of the game on 51 minutes to earn his side the three points at stake in the Matchday 35 clash.

The goal was Walcott’s 3rd goal in the Everton shirt since his move from Arsenal in January.

The win takes Everton (45 points) above Leicester City (44 points) into eighth spot while Newcastle United (41 points) maintain their place in the top 10 despite the slim defeat.
