Cristiano Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso to Face Prison Sentence in Spain

The Madrid Provincial Court will study the tax cases of Cristiano Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso on Tuesday, January 22.

In the case of the current Juventus player, he is set to receive a two-year prison sentence and a fine of 18.8 million euros, as agreed in a pact with Madrid prosecutors and the tax authorities, for four crimes from the years 2011 to 2014.

As for Alonso, the prosecution are calling for a five-year sentence for three crimes said to have been committed between 2010 and 2012.

Both players are expected to be present for the trials.
