Coppa Italia Latest: Second-String Inter Struggle Into Last Eight Against Lowly Opposition

Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan struggled with a much changed lineup against lowly Pordenone Calcio at home before prevailing on penalties in their Coppa Italia last 16 clash.

Both sides played out a goalless draw paving the way for the dreaded penalty shootout to decide who goes through.

The home side eventually prevailed on penalties with a 5-4 win over the third tier side after Japanese defender Yuto Nagatomo tucked away his penalty during sudden death.

Luciano Spaletti’s men will next face either city rivals AC Milan or Serie A strugglers Hellas Verona for a place in the semis.
