Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that summer signing Romeo Lavia has suffered a fresh injury setback.

Lavia had been introduced off the bench early in the second half in Chelsea’s win against Crystal Palace and impressed on his debut.

However, Lavia suffered a late knock and Pochettino confirmed the midfielder’s fitness would need to be evaluated ahead of Saturday’s trip to Luton Town.

“Lavia felt something and we need to check and hope it’s not too bad,” the Blues head coach was quoted on chelseafc.com.

“We are a little bit worried because if you watch the game [against Crystal Palace] I had to change his position with (Conor) Gallagher at the end because he was struggling to run.
