Rangers caretaker coach Benedict Ugwu says The Flying Antelopes are well-prepared to overcome Gabonese outfit A.S. Pelican from the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.
Ugwu’s side host Pelican – debutants in the completion –on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu after going down 2-1 in Libreville in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago.
While speaking of his side’s preparedness, the former Super Eagles defender also called on the teeming fans of the club to turn our en masse and cheer Rangers to victory in Enugu.
“We are preparing well, we know our mistakes over there, and we are prepared to amend everything,” the former Rangers defender said.
“I am calling on all the Rangers fans to come around on Sunday and support us. Though we lost over there (in Libreville), but we know by the special grace of God, we will make them proud and happy.”
An aggregate win for Rangers over the Gabonese will see them advance to the playoff round of the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup.
Last season, the 7-time Nigerian champions reached the group stage of the competition but failed to go beyond that stage.
