Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho Hands In Transfer Request

Liverpool midfielder, Philippe Coutinho has handed in an official transfer request as the Brazilain tries to force his move to Barcelona, Sky Sports reports.

Earlier today, Liverpool reiterated their strong stance concerning the future of Philippe Coutinho, insisting that “no offers for Philippe will be considered”.

A statement on Liverpool’s official website reads: ‘We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho.”

“The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”

25-year-old Coutinho, who signed a five-year contract extension with the Anfield side in January this year, joined Liverpool from Inter Milan in January 2013, becoming an integral part in Liverpool’s charge for success, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists for Klopp’s men last season.
