BREAKING – Rivers United Sanctions Five Players

The management of Rivers United FC have sanctioned five players on the books of the club.

Three of the players, Nzube Anaezemba, Bernard Ovoke and John Odumegwu have been sanctioned over acts of gross indiscipline.

The other two, Aliassou Sanou and Maduabuchi Okereke have since been declared AWOL after absconding from the camp of the club.

Speaking on the development, General Manager of the club, Chief Okey Kpalukwu explained that the move was taken to ensure that discipline reigns supreme in the club.

He further added that fans of the club should remain calm as the management would continued to work assiduously towards keeping the club in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Rivers United finished the league in 2nd place, three points behind eventual champions Rangers last season, but have struggled through out this season and currently sit third from bottom.
