Boniface, Tella Leverkusen Teammates Equal Madrid, Juve, Inter’s Incredible Feats

Victor Boniface, Nathan Tella and their Bayer Leverkusen teammates equaled the incredible feats set by Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan following their 4-0 win against Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.

Boniface and Tella came on in the 65th minute as Leverkusen recorded their 40th game unbeaten this season.

It was Boniface’s first appearance since suffering an injury prior to the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.

According to Squawka, The win against Dusseldorf means Leverkusen now join Madrid, Juventus and Inter as the teams from Europe’s big five leagues to have put together a 40+ game unbeaten run across all competitions in the 21st century.

While Juventus went 43 games unbeaten in the 2011-12 season, both Inter (2004-05) and Madrid (2016-17) each did 40.
