Technical Manager of Rivers United Stanley has declared that his side will ‘do everything that we can’ to ensure they grab all three points at stake when they face Enyimba in an eagerly anticipated clash on Sunday.
Last season’s runners-up, Rivers United who are battling for their lives in the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL) will host Enyimba in a Match Day 35 clash at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, with the Peoples Elephants chasing a continental place in the NPFL.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Eguma who understands how massive the clash against Enyimba is, says there’s no room for mistakes as the ‘Pride of Rivers’ are poised to claim the maximum points.
“Enyimba game any day is always a big game, you know. We don’t have to lose sight from that,” Eguma stated.
“I expect a very tough game against Enyimba, especially, considering the fact that Enyimba is also contesting for the title. I think it’s going to be a very tough game.
“But I must tell you that we’ll do everything that we can technically and otherwise to ensure that we win the game because at this point, we cannot afford to drop points at home.
“We know that those points are very, very important and vital to our struggle to get out of relegation. Therefore, we will work very hard to ensure that we get it.
“There’s no compromise in that game.”
Rivers United currently lie in 14th place on the NPFL standings with 45 points after 34 matches, with just two points outside the drop zone while Enyimba are on 4th spot with 54points.
